The City of Minot is accepting applications for the position of a Full Time Summer Intern in the Airport. This is a Full Time, non-civil service position. Salary for this position will start at $15.97 per hour D.O.E. 

 Nature of Work

• In this position, the Intern will learn the importance of all divisions of the airport, including learning about airport administration, operations, facility maintenance, security, etc. 
• This position will help the individual to enhance strong critical thinking skills, understand the operational needs at a commercial airport, and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders and community partners.

 Essential Functions of Work 

• Job shadow assigned staff of other departments, such as airport operations and maintenance, airport facilities, airport administration, etc. 
• Participate in aviation activities state-wide as scheduling and budgets permit.
• Will be assigned time primarily within the airport’s Operations and Maintenance department, with additional time spent in other major divisions of the airport
• The Intern will be assigned a special project to be completed prior to conclusion of the internship. This project will be tailored to the Intern's background, interests, field of study or needs of the airport.
• At the end of the program, the Intern will give a presentation to the Airport Administration and other City officials about their experience, special project, and learnings.

 Education, Experience, Other Requirements 

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in good academic standing OR be a recent college graduate (within last 6 months of application). 
• The City may consider a high school student that has completed “1760 Aviation Technology I” coursework from Minot School District or equivalent and be in good academic standing.   
• Must be at least 16 years of age at time of application.
• Must have a valid driver’s license at time of application.
• Must be able to pass a Drug Screen.
• Must be able to obtain an Airport Security Badge (which includes fingerprint criminal history records check and security badging test).

Compensation

• Starting hourly wage of $15.97-18.07 per hour D.O.E
• This is a Full Time, FLSA nonexempt, non-civil service position with no benefits provided.
