Sports Official
Part-time, Non-Exempt
Starting Pay: $16.00/hr
Under the direction of the Program Coordinator or Director. Adult and Youth Officials are responsible for the integral part of monitoring sports activity, making sure all rules are followed and the game is played fairly. The employee is always in direct physical supervision of all activities that they are assigned which demands a certain degree of independence. Work is performed within the framework of pre-established lesson plans and activity guidelines. Incumbent must have a proven track-record showing a good work ethic and punctuality. Incumbent must have flexible availability to work during peak program hours; that may include split shifts, daytime, evenings, and weekends.
Soccer, basketball, and other outdoor program experience is a plus.
This position requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED or currently enrolled in high school or college and at least 16 years of age. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop positive interest in recreational activities. Must have a positive, take-charge attitude.
