Electrician / Instrumentation Tech (Salary Commensurate with experience)

Under general supervision, is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various electrical, control, and instrumentation systems. Ensures compliance with electrical code, State regulations and s industry standards in all work performed. Provides leadership and instruction to Division Personnel in the operation and maintenance of pump stations, deep wells, chlorination systems, chemical feed systems, water tanks, and other equipment required for the delivery and pumping of water and wastewater.

Education:	High school diploma or GED
Experience:	Five (5) years of experience in maintaining, construction, repair, and servicing of complex industrial and manufacturing power systems, wiring systems, and motor starters and controls
Certifications:	Journeyman Electrician’s License  Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
Preferred:	Master Electrician License
Note:	The City retains the right to determine equivalencies. Any certifications not possessed at hire, must be obtained before the employee is removed from probation in order to continue employment with the City.

Must be able to hold and grip objects; bend, squat, kneel, climb, crawl, and reach overhead; work in awkward positions; twist and turn torso; push and pull up to 50 pounds. Employee is subject to periods of prolonged standing.  Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment. Must be able to exert up to five pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to stoop, lift, pull, reach, kneel, climb, crouch, carry or otherwise move objects. Must be able to lift/carry weights of up to 40-50 pounds.
