SUMMER CAMP TEAM LEADER

General Description: Team Leader is responsible for assisting with the supervision and management of a program site, its staff and its participants. This includes:

• Enforcing rules and maintaining a safe environment.
• Planning and organizing activities.
• Managing administrative duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Available for the entirety of summer camp season 6/23/25 – 8/15/25 which includes trainings.
• Attends Epi Pen, DCF Mandated Reporter and Medication & Administering Certification trainings as well as all scheduled staff meetings.
• Assists in the scheduling of staff in accordance with program attendance and lunch breaks.
• Assists in handling parent concerns in a professional, empathetic manner, reinforcing our commitment to customer service.
• Maintains a professional demeanor/attitude at all times to demonstrate the importance of customer service.
• Assists in keeping accurate records of attendance, emergencies and behavior issues for all children for follow up and documentation when needed.
• Inspects, or assign a staff person to inspect, site areas such as bathrooms, parking lots, for hazards or suspicious activities in order to maintain a safe program.
• Provides written reports of accidents or incidents immediately to the Supervisor/Program Coordinator so they may follow-up with appropriate action.
• Enforce department rules and policies for the benefit of all participants.
• Assign a staff person to perform daily inventory of program supplies inspecting for shortages or damages, and report results to supervisor.
• Adherence to the employee manual to promote consistency in the staff.
• Assists supervisor as needed and performs other duties as assigned.

Conditions and Equipment: Requires some heavy lifting, working outdoors, sneakers and/or safe footwear required at all times. Staff shirt must be worn on Mondays and field trip days.

Qualifications:

• CPR/First Aid/AED certified.
• Must be able to give effective directions and supervision of staff.
• Must be able to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Must be demonstrate good decision-making abilities especially, in emergency situations.
• Must have a positive personality and the ability to provide leadership and stability for program continuity and success.
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work with both children and adults in a mature manner.
• Some college or related work experienced desired.
• Must be 17 years or older.
