Your Role
As a Communications and Marketing Intern, you'll get hands-on experience in multimedia marketing within a local government setting. You’ll be involved in creating engaging content, promoting events, and assisting with event logistics. It's a great opportunity to grow your skills, collaborate with a fun team, and make a real difference in the community!What You’ll Be Doing:
This is an irregular part-time position. Evening and weekend hours may be required for some events.
Pay $17.00 - $22.00 per hour based on experience
15-22 hours per week available

Your Role
As a Communications and Marketing Intern, you'll get hands-on experience in multimedia marketing within a local government setting. You’ll be involved in creating engaging content, promoting events, and assisting with event logistics. It's a great opportunity to grow your skills, collaborate with a fun team, and make a real difference in the community!What You’ll Be Doing:
- Create engaging content for the City’s social media channels.
- Shoot and edit videos for internal and external use
- Write magazine and newsletter articles
- Assist with the planning and promotion of local events.
- Collaborate with team members and volunteers to ensure successful event execution.
- Proofread and edit marketing materials.
- Dive into various marketing and communication tasks as needed.
- You’re a full-time college student studying marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, media studies, or a related field.
- You have a good understanding of social media and digital marketing.
- You’re comfortable with tech tools like Microsoft Office, Sprout Social, Adobe Creative Suite and Canva (bonus points for experience with digital photography, design and photo editing!)
- You’re detail-oriented, organized, and can juggle multiple tasks with a smile!
- A positive attitude and the ability to work both independently and with a team are key.
- You’re outgoing, an extrovert and not afraid to talk to people, take their photos or get them on video.
- Gain real-world experience in marketing and event planning in a local government setting.
- Build your portfolio with diverse projects and a variety of marketing platforms.
- Flexible hours that can accommodate your schedule.
- Be part of a friendly, fun, and collaborative team.
