Nature of Work:
Performs professional engineering and administrative work supervising the Engineering Design Section. An employee in this position supervises engineering professionals for development review and in-house design projects. Considerable independent judgment and initiative is exercised in carrying out the daily operations of the Section. Work involves some field travel and inspection. Work is performed under the direction of the City Engineer and is reviewed through conferences, periodic written reports and observation of results achieved.
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field and five years of progressively responsible engineering experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Two years of local government experience preferred. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Florida required. Must obtain registration as a Certified Floodplain Manager within six months of hire. Valid Florida driver license required.
VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.
