Under general supervision, this position will teach older adults at the Oshkosh Seniors Center how to use technology that will help them connect to family, friends, and opportunities.
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Prepare and lead class discussions on technology topics.
- Schedule appointments for and meet one-on-one with participants to teach about technology and trouble-shoot issues. Answer questions about personal devices and applications that improve the quality of life of older adults.
- Foster an inviting and social environment that encourages learning about technology and that makes learning about technology fun, not intimidating.
- Implement surveys related to the Connect through Technology grants.
- Update related software with participant information relating to the technology programs.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of related experience in a technology support or instruction role.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Above average knowledge about smart phones, tablets, and laptop computers.
- Above average knowledge about social media, popular software and applications.
- Ability to problem-solve technology challenges and questions.
- Ability to exercise patience.
- Ability to create a socially inviting atmosphere for older adults.
- Skill in maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to perform duties accurately and timely.
- Ability to provide superior customer service.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Well-developed organization skills with attention to detail.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 15 per week
