Pay: $21.74 hourly
Minimum Preparation for Work:
- Sufficient education to read and understand technical material and prepare reports; and
- Three (3) years of experience in automotive/heavy truck parts procurement.
Necessary Special Requirements:
- Possession of an appropriate driver license for equipment operated and any license, training or certification required by law or regulation to complete assigned tasks.
Nature of Work:
An employee in this class performs technical work involving the purchasing of parts and accessories for the maintenance and repair of automobiles, heavy trucks and equipment. The duties of this employee are responsibilities adhering to stringent purchasing policies, procedures, and inventory control which will govern the operations of the assigned area. Completed work and work in process of completion are subject to inspection, but the employee remains independently responsible for the quality and quantity of work completed.
Examples of Work:
- Establish contacts with vendors for pricing and value in mind.
- Keep a balance of supplies as needed for day-to-day jobs.
- Orders materials based on policy and procedure requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of the standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment used in automotive and equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Thorough knowledge of pertinent safety standards and practices.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
- Ability to complete job from start to finish, including those aspects which may require technical assistance.
- Ability to estimate materials needed in advance of materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Ability to maintain records and complete reports.
- Ability to order supplies and account for use.
- Ability to perform work out of doors, occasionally under adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
- Skill in the use and care of pertinent tools and equipment.

Mental and Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to hold or feel, reach with hands and arms, walk, talk, smell and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, crouch and crawl. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Work Environment:
