What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stormwater Intern (Public Utilities) position at City of Perrysburg?
The City of Perrysburg has a Stormwater Internship available for this summer. This position is budgeted for approximately 40 hours per week for approximately 11 weeks. Workday hours will be 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
The Stormwater Intern is responsible for collecting, updating, and maintaining physical features for use in the City's GIS operational layers.
This position requires work outdoors in various terrain and weather conditions.
Records Collection/Other Duties
- Identify and collect missing information pertaining to the operational layers for water, stormwater, and sanitary sewers.
- Identify and update building footprints from current aerial imagery.
- Identify and update ditches from current aerial imagery.
- Assist with the identification and screening of dry weather outfalls by means of field verification.
- Keep a record of any missing or incomplete file.
- Perform construction site inspections for compliance with stormwater regulations.
- Survey the condition of creeks, ditches, and swales.
- Review construction documents.
- Perform calculations for area, volume, velocity, and flow.
- May operate City-owned equipment.
MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE CHARACTERISTICS:
Knowledge of: ESRI ArcGIS software; ESRI Collector app; water utilities knowledge is beneficial.
Skill in: Operation of personal computer; Office 365; GPS operation.
Ability to: Collect and maintain point features; work in various types of weather conditions; work independently.
Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license and be eligible for coverage under the City's vehicle insurance provider and pass a drug test and background check. Steel-toed work boots are required.
