About the Job
If selected to join us, this position will give you a chance to learn and perform the following functions and more:
- Maintain right of ways; trim trees and mow
- Apply herbicides to sidewalks, pathways, and right of ways to control vegetation.
- Sweep roadways and bike lanes
- Apply anti-icing liquids to bridges and roadways to prevent ice from forming
- Plow and sand arterial roadways and residential streets during snow storms
- Maintain and repair guardrails, crash cushions and reflectors.
- Maintain, repair or replace damaged sidewalks and special purpose pathways
- Inventory and maintain special purpose pathways and replace fencing when needed
- Repair hand rails and clean graffiti off bridge structures
- Repair pot holes, asphalt patching, overlays, including grinding and crack sealing
Education and Experience
- Any combination equivalent to high school diploma or equivalency and one (1) year construction or trades experience
- Municipal experience not required but preferred
- CDL with direct experience driving commercial vehicles not required but preferred
- Valid Washington State Driver's License and a driving record that meets city standards
- This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
