Are you ready to make a splash this summer? We're on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals to join our Aquatics Team as Pool Managers, overseeing the city's sparkling pools! This is a seasonal, part-time, hourly position working under the direction of the Aquatics TeamThe eligibility list established may be used to fill the current and/or upcoming vacancies within this classification for up to six (6) months.
Pool Managers, under general supervision, direct, supervise, and participate in the operation of a public swimming pool in protecting life, enforcing safety rules and regulations and providing swimming instruction; and do related work as required.

Education:  High School graduation or satisfactory equivalent (GED).
Completion of college level course work is highly desirable as well as the possession of current Instructor's Certificates for Lifeguard, Standard First Aid or Basic Life Support Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Levels A-E (issued by the American Heart Association).

Experience:  At least two pool seasons (a minimum of six months) of full-time lifeguard/teaching experience.

Necessary Special Requirements:

  • Minimum age 18 years.
  • Possession of a current Water Safety Instructor's Certificate within six (6) months from hire date.
  • Possession of a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate (which includes first aid).
  • Possession of a current American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for the Professional Rescuer Certificate or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate.

Highly Desirable Qualification: 
  • Current Water Safety Instructor's Certificate

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Education obtained outside the United States (US) require one of the following options:
  1. An equivalency statement from an evaluation company certified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) at http://www.naces.org/members.html or the Association of International Credential Evaluators Inc. (AICE) at http://aice-eval.org/members/.
  2. An advanced-level degree from an accredited US college or university.
