What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician III - Sign Shop position at City of Roanoke, Virginia?
The City of Roanoke is seeking a Maintenance Technician to supervise and participate in the work of a 6-9 person crew engaged in a variety of traffic markings and signs in the right of way. Maintains daily/weekly/monthly spreadsheets of all traffic marking related records and reports. Responsible for developing a line striping data base in GIS. Will operate a long line striping truck. Will assist the Traffic Operations Supervisor in scheduling of department work duties. Will participate in snow removal operations and will subject to standby emergency barricade call duty on a rotating basis. Requires experience with Excel and knowledge of the (MUTCD) Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices including proper work zone set up. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2 to 3 years experience with traffic markings and signs. Must possess a valid Class B CDL driver's license.

This is a non-exempt position.
Salary : $31,760 - $50,817
