Description
The purpose of this position is to serve as the onsite administrative shift supervisor for a recreation center to oversee daily functions and activities including maintenance needs, administrative duties, and cash handling. Ensures facilities are safe, clean and ready for programs and rentals; provides tours; assists patrons; and assists in establishing new members and retaining current members.
Posted range is the starting salary. Pay rate offered is based on experience.
Examples of Duties
- Stays current on all facility program offerings and changes so that customer inquiries can be accurately answered; builds rapport with patrons; provides tours for prospective members and provides accurate information on membership details; completes patron registrations in programs and special events; ensures proper completion of all transactions and accurate cash handling; answers phones and provides up to date information to patron inquiries; provides onsite supervision.
- Manages and supervises shift by participating in the selection process for new hires and conducting interviews for open shifts; conducts training for new hires in facility and front desk operations; supervises and coordinates shift schedules; ensure the cleanliness and smooth operation of the entire facility; supervises all community service workers, volunteers and delegates appropriate tasks to benefit the facility; maintains records of shift performance and implements consequences.
- Maintains a cleaning and rover schedule that provides at least one shift member on cleaning duty each hour of the day; alerts facility maintenance of any large facility problems immediately; ensures that all cleaning supplies are fully stocked and does laundry throughout the day to ensure that rags are ready for cleaning duties and towels are available for patron use.
- Administrative Shift Leader focuses on the ability to analyze and interpret data and prepare reports; greets visitors, handles their inquires and directs them to the appropriate person; schedules and coordinates meetings, maintain office supply and facility inventories by placing orders and completing purchase orders; types letters, memos, forms and other correspondence; picks up, sorts and delivers mail to the appropriate person; files and retrieves documents, records and reports; maintains records, enters data and retrieves data as needed; handles complete customer needs regarding registration and accounts.
- Pulls reports for all daily transactions at the end of each shift; gathers and sorts all paperwork; balances the cash drawer at the close of each shift and records and reports the day's earnings; files all facility earnings for the day and notifies administrative staff of any problems.
- Administrative Shift Leader provides onboarding and ongoing training for front desk Recreation Assistants and Shift Leaders including facility operations, policies and procedures and registration software systems.
Experience and Training
- High school graduation or GED equivalent.
- At least one (1) year of experience working with recreation programs.
- Supervisory or team leader experience preferred.
Certificates and Licenses Required
- Valid Class C Driver's License.
