Hiring Rate: $16.82 hourly
Full Pay Range: $16.82 - $25.24 hourly
Position Overview:
Under direct supervision, performs support functions for Municipal Court; performs related duties as required.
This is a part-time position averaging 20-30 hours per week. Heavy public contact. Responsible for maintaining a daily cash drawer; data entry; prepare receipts for payments of traffic violations. Assist public at counter with fine payments and all types of dispositions of cases. (Defensive Driving, Compliance Dismissals, Proof of FMFR [Insurance], Continuances, etc.)
Enters and retrieves data in automated systems, maintains files and records; work with Incode court software, Microsoft Word and Outlook. Provides clerical support for department; answers and directs incoming calls, greets visitors, answers questions for court dockets, trial dates, and fine information etc.
Performs other related duties as assigned. Maintain confidentiality with regards to all court files. Responsible for regular attendance and arriving to work on time.Graduation from High School or completion of GED and one year of general clerical or public contact experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.Valid Class "C" driver's license. Must have and maintain a good driving record in accordance with the driving standards as established by the City of Rowlett. Must report all traffic citations to Court Clerk or his/her designee within two working days of receipt.
Must be available to work mandatory overtime. Must have valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record. Must be able to obtain Level I Court Clerk Certification issued by the Texas Court Clerks Association within one (1) year of employment. Preference may be given to those that already have Level I Court Clerk Certification.
