What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Crossing Guard position at CITY OF SACHSE?
School Crossing Guard position is available at the following locations:
Armstong Elementary School, Sachse Texas
Under general supervision, assists children to safely cross streets in a safe and orderly manner.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Monitors traffic to determine safe crossing of students and pedestrians at designated crossing areas.
· Utilizes metal stop sign and proper hand signals to stop and control traffic.
· Adheres to regulations and guidelines governing school crossings.
· Monitors safety of pedestrians using assigned crosswalk.
· Reports problems with students, parents, strangers or traffic.
· Performs other related duties as assigned
· Knowledge of traffic regulations pertaining to school and pedestrian crossings.
· Knowledge of traffic control devices.
· Skill in working with the public, especially children.
· Skill in effective oral communication.
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
· No previous experience required.
