What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility I/II position at City of Saline?

FULL-TIME UTILITY I/II
The City of Saline is accepting applications for a full-time Utility I or II, depending on qualifications. Utility I performs a variety of work with the Wastewater Treatment and Water Production facilities to ensure appropriate chemical allocations and state permit requirements, as well as maintains facility grounds for the City. EGLE certifications Class D and D-4 required within 36 months of hire.
Utility II performs maintenance, operations, and laboratory analysis for the Wastewater Treatment and Water Production facilities in a safe manner, and compliant with state and federal requirements. Limited supervision of Utility I. Position requires at least 4 years of experience in a similar facility, and at least 2 years of relevant experience with primary or secondary treatment, sludge handling and disposal, and laboratory analysis. EGLE Class D Wastewater required, Class C preferred; D-4 Water required, D-3 preferred.
Both positions require a high school education or GED and a valid driver’s license. Starting wage is $22.71/hr to $23.87/hr per union contract and depending on qualifications.
