JOB OBJECTIVES:
Under immediate supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, is responsible for general office cleaning and maintenance. This position occasionally prepares simple reports and records. Decisions are made on a routine level. Position has little or no contact with the public with no supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Makes minor building repairs.
- Operates buffer, strips and finishes floors.
- Sweeps, mops, operates vacuum cleaner and cleans carpet areas.
- Dusts all areas of office buildings and furniture.
- Washes all windows weekly or as necessary.
- Cleans kitchen area and bathrooms daily.
- Sets up tables and chairs and other various meeting room equipment
- Picks up all refuse from grounds.
- Maintains custodial supplies and equipment including tables and chairs.
- Understands verbal instructions and warning labels.
- Uses good judgment to work safely and use equipment properly.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS:
General garden tools, cleaning chemicals and floor Finishes. Operate buffer, vacuum cleaner, mop and push broom. Will also utilize ladder, when necessary.
WORK CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Some unusual working hours, irregular hours or shifts. Hazards exist which may result in lost time, accident exposure to soiling of clothing and skin surface; work involves normal weather changes. Physical effort limited to lifting 20-30 lbs; work involves standing and walking from place to place.
EDUCATION/SKILLS REQUIRED:
Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Must have some knowledge of the subject to perform work in a limited range of work situations with intermittent supervision. Prefer a minimum of one (1) year experience. Must be able to read and write the English language and possess a valid Texas drivers’ license.
