What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Maintenance Workers - Public Works position at City of Shoreview?

The City of Shoreview is hiring seasonal maintenance positions to work full-time this summer in the streets or utility divisions of our Public Works D­­epartment. You can apply for one or both positions. Get ready to enjoy the great outdoors this summer!Street Position Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting with street maintenance and repairs
  • Assist with traffic signs
  • Other general labor
Utility Position Responsibilities include:
  • Water/sewer line maintenance/repairs
  • Flushing and painting hydrants
  • Other general labor
Minimum Requirements:
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license
  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift/move 50 lbs. and occasionally lift/move 100 lbs.
  • 18 Years of age or older
  • Must be able to take work direction and be to work on time
Estimated length of position: Mid-May/early June to late August/early September.

Hours: 40 hours per week, generally 7 am - 3:30 pm.

Rate of Pay:  $16.00 - $17.50 per hour
