What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stock Clerk II position at City of Shreveport, LA?
Class Title
The Stock Clerk II Issues tools, parts, equipment, supplies and materials to authorized employees. Initiates requests for line items based on usage data and special requirements.
Duties
1. May be required to drive supply source and pick up line items.
2. Receives, inventories, posts, and stocks line items on shelves, in bins, and at other authorized stock and storage areas.
3. Maintains perpetual inventory or similar receipt, stock and issue records.
4. Safeguards against theft or misappropriation.
5. May be required to post maintenance and repair data concerning vehicles and equipment.
6. Prepares reports and maintains files and records as directed.
7. Helps train Stock Clerk I.
8. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Minimum Qualifications
1. High school diploma, GED, or the equivalent.
2. Valid vehicle operator's license at time of hire.
3. One (1) year experience as Stock Clerk I or other experience in inventory, warehouse or stockroom related positions.
4. Ability to type at average rate of speed of 20 words per minutes; to apply arithmetic principles through percentage and fractions; to operate calculator and adding machine with average proficiency; and knowledge of double -entry bookkeeping principles
Physical Requirements:
1. Most tasks involve the ability to exert medium/heavy physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of medium weight (10-50 pounds).
2. Some tasks may involve extended periods of time at workstation.
3. Some tasks involve the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
4. Some tasks may require perception and discrimination of color, sound, odor, and visual ability.
5. Job must be performed with or without accommodations.
Work Environment:
1. Some tasks may require exposure to temperature extremes, strong odors, toxic/poisonous agents, smoke, dusts, pollen, and vibrations.
