The City of Solon has an opening for a full-time Records Clerk position in the Police Department. This position is responsible for performing clerical, secretarial, and administrative work within the Police Department and performing recurring office procedures independently in accordance with Department and City guidelines, procedures, and policies.
Primary duties include assisting Docket Clerk with all affiliated routine duties and other Records Division staff as assigned, performing routine clerical and administrative work in answering telephones, providing customer assistance, records, cashiering, data processing, and related tasks, typing and editing a variety of correspondence, reports, etc., and receiving the public and answering questions.
Applicants must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED certificate and a minimum of one (1) year of related office work experience. Training or experience with general office procedures such as typing, filing, accounting and basic bookkeeping is preferred. The successful applicant should have knowledge of basic computer applications and related skills, such as strong customer service, organization, and written and oral communication skills.
This position offers a starting salary of $19.9972/hour. City benefits include medical, prescription, dental, and vision. In addition, benefits include membership in the Ohio Public Employer’s Retirement System, life insurance, vacation, sick leave accruals and select paid holidays.
