Accountant or Senior Accountant

The City of Tallahassee's Underground Utilities and Public Infrastructure department is currently hiring for an Accountant or Senior Accountant. If you are passionate about public service and skilled in financial management, this may be the opportunity for you.

This person in this role will support general fund financial operations in compliance with GAAP and GAAFR standards. The role offers the opportunity to perform a range of accounting tasks, while ensuring transparent and accurate financial management across multiple restricted and unrestricted funds.

The City of Tallahassee's Underground Utilities and Public Infrastructure is a progressive organization operating water, wastewater and stormwater utility systems, as well as public works and transportation infrastructure, to serve Florida’s seventh largest city. Experience Level: 2 years (depending on education level)

Salary Range: $43,300 to $136,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications

Qualifications

Accountant:

-Have an associate's degree in accounting, finance or a related field and six years of relevant work experience; OR

-Have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field and four years of professional accounting, grant administration, budgeting or finance experience; OR

-Have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; a CPA, CGFM, CPFO or equivalent certification; and two years of related experience; OR

-Have a master’s degree in accounting or finance and three years of related experience

Senior Accountant:

-Have an associate’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field and nine years of related experience; OR

-Have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field and seven years of professional accounting, grants administration, budgeting or finance experience; OR

-Have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; a CPA, CGFM, CPFO or equivalent certification; and five years of related experience; OR

-Have a master’s degree in accounting or finance and six years of related experience
