Position Description
The City of Tolleson is seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our Field Operations team as HVAC/Electrician Trades Specialist. Responsibilities include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on City's HVAC and electrical systems. This is a journeymen level industrial electrician position. Knowledge of standard practices, materials and tools, as well as hazards and precautionary safety methods specific to the trade is required. Incumbent will continually strive to improve operations, decrease down time, streamline work practices, and maintain accurate records. Subject to on-call requirements or call-out. Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, supplemented with college coursework or technical training, and 4 years of progressively responsible experience in assigned area of responsibility; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Valid Arizona Driver's License. Must have a HVAC and/or Refrigerant Handler certification(s), or Journeyman Electrician Licensure. Experience with Toshiba Carrier SHRM-e Heat Recovery VRF (variable refrigerant flow) systems is highly desirable.
Special Work Conditions
Job Hazards may include: Mechanical, biological, chemical, and respiratory, electrical (high, medium, and low voltages), and includes working in environments having noise, vibration, extreme temperatures, and/or humid conditions.
Performs manual labor, may require working weekends, evenings, nights, Holidays, overtime and emergency call-outs, may require staying past the end of a scheduled shift or coming in early to cover a shift and may require staying past scheduled shift, may require working overtime, and being called in to respond to urgent and/or emergency situations, may require working alone as solo, may require working in confined spaces, may require occasional heavy lifting, performance of duties use of various personal protective equipment (PPE).
