Drive a City vehicle in a safe and appropriate manner between sites. Conduct routine investigations and prepare detailed police reports; investigate minor traffic collisions involving property damage. Assist officers and detectives in investigations and follow-up as directed. Collect evidence and fingerprints from crime scenes. Testify in court, and administrative hearings. Retrieve found property, collect, and log evidence; maintain related records. Respond to emergency calls for support service at the direction of a supervisor. Respond to complaints of abandoned vehicles; determine ownership, arrange for towing if appropriate; complete necessary paperwork. Direct and control routine and unusual traffic conditions as assigned. Support training of new service technicians at the direction of a supervisor. Qualifications Experience and Education Two (2) years: Experience, preferably in a volunteer, internship, technical, customer service, administrative support or similar capacity. Equivalent to a HS Diploma/GED Preferred: Coursework in technical community orientation, administrative support, field support, customer service or other capacity in law enforcement, social services, or emergency services or related field.
