A $4,000 hiring bonus is being offered for this position. Hiring bonuses shall only be for new hires of original employment or reemployment as defined in Human Resources Policy No. 5.0.
- $1,000 will be awarded in the first paycheck.
- $1,250 will be awarded upon completion of the six (6) month interim performance evaluation with an overall rating of “Meets Expectations”.
- $1,750 will be awarded upon completion of the employee’s one (1) year probationary period and a performance evaluation with an overall rating of “Meets Expectations”.
The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services is seeking to hire a qualified candidate for our Mobile Crisis Response Clinician II position who has experience working with children/youth that are in crisis providing mobile triage and assessment off site across a region in varied settings such as schools, homes, emergency departments, and public agencies for our Behavioral Health Child and Youth program.
Responsibilities:
The Clinician is part of a regional crisis hub team that provides crisis assessments and intervention services to the City of Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and the Eastern Shore. The Clinician responds within one (1) hour of dispatch by the Regional Call Center during designated shift to provide immediate crisis intervention to youth and families. Services are provided seven days per week between the hours of 7:00 am and 11:00 pm.
- Work with children and adolescents who may be diagnosed with an array of mental health and/or substance use disorders, as outlined in the DSM.
- Respond to the site when dispatched by the Regional Call Center within one hour, with shifts covering Monday through Sunday between 7am and 11pm.
- Provides shift coverage including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed on a rotating basis.
- Provide immediate crisis response to youth and their families to include direct face to face service with the identified youth in need and/or family, collateral contacts, and other billable services.
- Complete complex assessments, crisis planning, crisis intervention, consultation, coordination, transition planning and other case management duties are provided in the community and in a behavioral health clinic setting.
- Generate preliminary Crisis Education and Prevention Plan (CEPP), complete crisis intervention specific assessments, intake and complex assessments, obtain mental health history, and formulate diagnoses as well as update diagnoses as needed with client/family at the time of the initial contact.
- Develop initial treatment plans or revise current treatment plans with clients and families that are opened to crisis services.
- Provide ongoing assessments for changes in the client’s mental status and provide therapeutic crisis interventions and/or referrals based on the changing needs of the client.
- Completes documentation in electronic health record and assures that filing of all clinical information and submission of billing information are done accurately and within required timeframes.
- Maintain documentation within the clinical record to meet DHS QA, DMAS, & DBHDS standards.
- Provides leadership and training to team members on an as needed basis.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday: Varied schedule 7:00am-3:30pm; and/or 2:30pm-11:00pm. Rotating standby on weekends.
