What are the responsibilities and job description for the BH/DS Clinician IV position at City of Virginia Beach?
The City of Virginia Beach, Human Services Department (HSD) seeks a Team Leader for the Human Rights Coordinators. This individual be will responsible for facilitating the coordination of and the implementation of the Department’s human rights procedures for Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (BHDS) and for ensuring compliance with reporting requirements related to these and other critical events.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Ensure required follow up occurs regarding the incident reports, complaints, and allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
- Perform complex assessment of critical events; develop and implement plans to ensure appropriate follow up occurs in accordance with external requirements and related policies.
- Supervise two other Human Rights Coordinators and will participate in other continuous quality improvement activities, including data compilation and clinical record reviews.
- Provide guidance/consultation regarding the implementation of state human rights regulations.
- Responsible for ensuring external reporting timelines are met (e.g. Virginia DBHDS Serious Injury reports, insurance carrier adverse outcome reports).
- Responsible for ensuring the completion of various reports (e.g. quarterly medication error report, quarterly investigation summary report, and annual summary of incident reports) and for ensuring leadership requests for information about incidents, allegations and complaints are fulfilled.
- Develop and conduct training related to incident reporting, Human Rights, and other topics as needed.
- Participate in the Local Human Rights Committee as the lead agency representative, as well as in internal meetings related to human rights issues. Serve as liaison to the City’s Human Rights Commission.
- Ensure completion of special projects, such as collecting and analyzing data and assisting in the improvement of processes.
- Conduct clinical chart reviews in a variety of programs on an as needed basis, obtaining information and making appropriate recommendations.
- Serve as a designee in the absence of the CQI BHDS Supervisor to ensure operational needs and requirements of the CQI BHDS team are met.
