The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services is seeking to hire a highly motivated and dedicated candidate with compassion for the BHDS Case Manager position who has experience providing targeted mental health case management to youth and families for our Child and Youth program in the Behavioral Health Division.
Duties:
- Perform difficult assessment, clinical intervention, case management, program coordination and counseling duties in behavioral health, developmental services, or substance abuse setting.
- Perform complex assessments (including substance abuse evaluations),
- Provide treatment planning, crisis planning, clinical intervention, crisis intervention, consultation, supportive counseling, transition planning for formulating client case disposition in compliance with state certification standards.
- Provide individual, group or family counseling/therapy and/or psycho-social rehabilitation to improve client's psycho-social functioning.
- Perform necessary case management functions related to service referrals, coordination of care, monitoring/follow-up, and case documentation in accordance with quality assurance and professional client standards.
- Utilize leadership and provide leadership to volunteers and team members on an as needed basis to enhance services to client.
- Assist program planning, development, implementation and evaluation activities to strive continually to improve program's service delivery to clients.
- Enhance personal occupational functioning to improve clinical skills and service delivery to clients.
- Complete clinical documentation and assures that all filing of clinical information and submission of billing information are done accurately and within the time frame required.
- May co-facilitates Aggression Replacement Training (ART) groups for juveniles detained in a Post Dispositional status in Juvenile Detention Center (as needed status).
- Provide juvenile restoration counseling services for pre-adjudicated youth deemed not competent to stand trial.
A $4,000 hiring bonus is being offered for this position. Hiring bonuses shall only be for new hires of original employment or reemployment as defined in Human Resources Policy No. 5.0.
- $1,000 will be awarded in the first paycheck.
- $1,250 will be awarded upon completion of the six (6) month interim performance evaluation with an overall rating of “Meets Expectations”.
- $1,750 will be awarded upon completion of the employee’s one (1) year probationary period and a performance evaluation with an overall rating of “Meets Expectations”.
