We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Equipment Operator III to join our team. In this role, you will assist in a wide variety of duties to include:
- Operate a dump truck in connection with the transportation of sand, stone, gravel, and supplies.
- Operate a light truck in carrying tools, equipment, and supplies, to and from job site.
- Operate a motor truck engaged in snow removal, or sanding of icy streets and roads.
- Operate dump truck and/or backhoe in making BMP repairs.
- Assist with pump stations maintenance, pond aerator maintenance, sluice gate maintenance, and street sweeper/vacuum truck maintenance
- Service and perform minor repairs on automotive equipment include, but not limited to, excavator, frontend loader, and backhoe, vacuum truck
- Assist in loading and unloading materials and equipment transported by truck.
- Has a minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance of storm water drainage systems.
- Familiar with erosion and sediment control standards.
- Has experience with off road drainage
- Position also requires a significant amount of work by hand when cleaning drainage structures, pipes, ditches, removing debris, downing trees, and shoveling sediment.
- Has experience with chain saws and other landscaping power tools.
- Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described or less.
- Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on then current workloads and department needs.
Must possess a Commercial Driver’s License – Class A (VA or NC)
This position is ALPHA 1 and is required to work during all inclement weather (flooding, hurricanes & snow, etc.).
Pre-employment physical is required.
*CDL Hiring Bonus - The $4,000 CDL (Class A or B) Hiring Bonus is for newly hired employees only. The bonus will be paid in three increments during the first year of employment.
- $1,000 with first paycheck
- $1,000 first pay period following six-month interim evaluation (with "meets expectation" performance rating)
- $2,000 at conclusion of probationary period (with "meets expectation" performance rating)
