Job Summary:

The Sales Optician plays a pivotal role in driving sales while ensuring exceptional patient care and operational efficiency within the optical department. This position requires a strong focus on salesmanship, customer service, and optical expertise. The Sales Optician works the sales floor, conducts active sales activities, and oversees backend operations to guarantee a seamless experience for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership:

• Drive sales by actively engaging with patients, understanding their needs, and recommending appropriate eyewear solutions.
• Lead the sales floor, providing guidance and support to optical team members to achieve sales targets.
• Utilize product knowledge to educate patients on lens options, coatings, and frame styles, ensuring informed purchase decisions.

Patient Care and Customer Service:

• Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive experience for every patient.
• Handle patient inquiries, resolve concerns, and address any issues related to eyewear selection or fitting.
• Process lens and frame warranties efficiently, maintaining accurate records and adhering to company policies.

Operational Efficiency:

• Manage backend operations to facilitate smooth patient flow and efficient optical processes.
• Oversee frame inventory management, including restocking, auditing, and updating inventory systems.
• Coordinate with optical support staff to ensure timely job completion, including order processing, lens edging, and frame adjustments.

Remake Authorization and Discounts:

• Process remakes within the 60-day warranty period, ensuring patient satisfaction and retention.
• Offer up to a 20% discount on no-insurance items to eligible patients, enhancing customer loyalty and satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification as an optician preferred but not required.
• Proven experience in optical sales and customer service, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Strong knowledge of eyewear products, lens options, and industry trends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and team members.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities and the capacity to multitask effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
