Job Summary:
Reports directly to the department manager and optometrists and is responsible for conducting preliminary testing, specialized testing, and first-time contact lens safety training.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conducts preliminary testing and specialized testing
- Process patient information through EMR and help maintain the operation of the reception records and releases
- Retrieve patient records for upcoming exams, correspondence, or as needed
- Ensures examination room cleanliness while ensuring inventory of supplies, and disinfecting all equipment and instruments after use
- Manages continuous patient flow by effectively communicating with team members and providers
Job Specifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Experience in the clinical field preferred but not required
- Effective team player. Must have very good interpersonal relationship skills and can work well with employees and patients
- Must have sensitivity, maturity, diplomacy, and tact in addressing complex situations and handling irate patients.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Strong ethics and high level of personal and professional integrity
- Must have basic familiarity with HIPPA and PHI
- Computer literate and proficient in using MS office programs
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 38 per week
