The City of Warrensburg is accepting applications for a Full Time Recreation Supervisor-Sports with the Parks & Recreation Department. Starting wage at $17.44 per hour or $36,275 annually, plus employee benefit package. Minimum Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in Parks & Recreation, Sports Management or related field, plus professional experience in a related field. Must possess a valid Driver’s License. On call, after-hours and weekend duty within a 40-hour week is required.
Under general supervision of the Assistant Director of Warrensburg Parks & Recreation, The Park Recreation Supervisor of Sports will exercise independent judgment within the framework of approved rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in planning, directing, and determining needs and requests related to the operational efficiency of the Parks and Recreation Department.
Develops and implements diversified and comprehensive recreational programs in assigned area. Promotes and interprets divisional activities, programs and policies. Assists in scheduling of classes, programs, facilities, activities, camps, tournaments and special events.
Implements plans assuring safety, risk management, and personal enjoyment of the participants. Conducts an evaluation of programs including an analysis of the cost effectiveness of the plan or program and the satisfaction of the participants. Monitors the day-to-day operations of programs and events, including making site visits, handling and resolving complaints and ensuring that program and events have required materials and supplies.
Maintains high visibility and remains accessible to the public. Answers questions, deals with concerns, and communicates widely assuring for professionalism. As requested, gives speeches and presentations assuring for the best public relations possible. Works with the public in a professional and courteous manner assuring for professionalism.
Ensures the enforcement of park and recreation rules and regulations. Coordinates and works with other divisions to incorporate system philosophy and policy to promote a rounded and comprehensive department. Develops, recommends and implements goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for assigned areas. Performs effectively as a member of a team in carrying out the City of Warrensburg’s stated vision, mission and values assuring for professionalism.
