About The Job
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Installation Technician II to be an important part of our team. The Installation Technician II will be responsible for Installation and Maintenance of fiber-based internet service for our customers. This opportunity sits within Cityside Fiber’s Field Operations Department. The Field Operations Department team is responsible for installing fiber-based internet service. The objective of this position is to be a team player and be able to install and keep maintenance of the fiber-based internet service for our customers. To be successful in this role you will drive motivation and be able to work with a team. You will operate in a fast-moving and sometimes ambiguous environment and excel in hitting the Company’s objectives. To be successful you will have superior communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
Our current field office is located in Irvine. Our local yard is in Tustin, CA. You will be required to travel to project/customer sites to fulfill job responsibilities.
Compensation
Starting pay rate at $26 per hour (actual starting rate may vary based on candidate’s qualifications, skills, and years of experience).
$200 Work Boot Stipend (Received Annually)
$40 Cell Phone Stipend (Received Monthly)

About The Job

Responsibilities
- Understand Cityside Fiber’s core purpose and values and be passionate about what we do.
- Install fiber internet service to the interior of residential customers’ living premises, including running fiber optic cables, splicing fibers, router installation and testing connections.
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on fiber internet equipment and infrastructure as needed.
- Follow established safety protocols and procedures when installing fiber internet service.
- Ensure that all installations meet quality standards and take corrective action as needed.
- Document all installations and maintenance activities in accordance with company procedures.
- Communicate with customers to schedule installations, answer questions, and provide updated on the status of their installation.
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete installations and maintenance activities in a timely and efficient manner.
- Have a very strong understanding of our products, added services, and equipment stock, and be able to install and troubleshoot all devices.
- Be able to follow a team leader and work well with others.
- Work with customers and be able to report to the Field Operations Manager.
- Work in and contribute to an atmosphere of trust and integrity with fellow employees to ensure the overall success of Cityside Fiber.
- High energy individual who is willing to be an integral part of a high growth service provider who puts people first, dares to be different and has fun disrupting an industry.
- High school degree or GED required.
- 3 years of experience as an installation technician for an internet service provider, including troubleshooting of home internet service and related equipment.
- Proven history of excellent customer service in the field and timely, effective, and clean installations.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
- Familiarity with standard safety protocols and procedures, and a commitment to working safely in the field.
- Experience communicating to and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Proven history of excellent customer service and ability to build relationships.
- Excellent organizational skills- Ability to multi-task and be highly responsive to internal and external clients.
- Demonstrated highest level of integrity, intellectual honesty and strong work ethic.
- Consistent effort, intense commitment, and willingness to go above and beyond when needed.
- Understanding of telecommunication infrastructure and networking concepts.
- Valid state driver’s license, good driving record, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
