Responsibilities:
- Familiarity with local and state land planning codes, rules, regulations, etc. and have the ability to proactively keep up to date with current information/requirements.
- Communicate effectively with the Civil Site Team in order to guide personnel to design/incorporate land planning information into the project design.
- Review project plans and drawings to ensure planning codes are being properly shown and enforced.
- Have the ability to present the project to the public and/or local planning boards, and clearly explain the project parameters, details, variance requests, etc..
- Develop relationships with current and future site civil clients by face-to-face interactions. This would involve an outgoing and confident personality.
- Attend planning and other related conferences in order to keep abreast of current standards, as well as meet industry professionals and develop relationships with those peers.
- Demonstrate the ability to take initiative, work independently, and proactively execute tasks.
- High level of self-motivation with a strong focus on delivering relationships with team members and clients.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills in order to produce a high quality work product.
Requirements
- 5-10 years of professional planning and communications experience – involvement with multiple projects from beginning to end.
- Bachelor’s degree in planning with emphasis in Civil Site Development.
- Experience with AutoCAD software is a plus.
- Planning and project management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships.
- Strong analytical, critical, and logical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of industry including municipal, state agencies, and private clients.
- Involvement in industry organizations and professional groups.
- Ability to spot new business opportunities and quickly evaluate opportunities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of presenting/conveying ideas clearly and persuasively to the target communities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills that support building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, prospects and team members.
