Claremont Nursing & Rehab Center seeking a full-time Rehabilitation Technician (Rehab Tech) to provide essential support to the rehabilitation team by assisting with therapy services in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). The Rehab Tech will work closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other rehabilitation staff to provide quality care to patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or illnesses. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient care, has a strong work ethic, and possesses excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist therapists in preparing treatment areas and equipment for therapy sessions.
- Set up and clean therapy equipment as directed by therapy staff.
- Assist patients with exercises, mobility, and activities of daily living (ADLs) as directed by therapists.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to therapists or nursing staff.
- Transport patients to and from therapy sessions, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Document and maintain accurate records of patient activities and progress in accordance with facility policies and regulations.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized therapy environment.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA guidelines.
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling patient appointments and managing patient files as needed.
- Assist with patient education regarding home exercises or therapy-related activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation or therapy staff.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or a degree in a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a rehabilitation or healthcare setting, particularly in a skilled nursing facility, preferred.
- Knowledge of rehabilitation principles and practices is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

- Physical ability to assist with patient mobility and lift patients when necessary.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift or assist in lifting patients weighing up to 50 pounds or more with proper techniques.
- Ability to assist with the mobility of patients, including transferring from bed to chair, and helping patients with exercises or physical activities.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting.
- Some exposure to bodily fluids, infectious diseases, and cleaning chemicals may occur.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn according to facility guidelines.
