What are the responsibilities and job description for the WRD Inspector I/II (Capital Improvements) position at Clark County Water Reclamation District?
The Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the WRD Inspector I/II (Capital Improvements) position. This position will be primarily responsible for:
- Performing detailed inspections of wastewater infrastructure for capital improvement projects and public works, projects for conformance with regulations, standards and contract provisions in difficult, complex or disputed situations.
- Working with senior inspections staff and independently to perform a variety of multi-disciplined technical construction inspections on industrial and public works projects.
- Interpreting, explaining, and enforcing regulations, standards, and policies to contractors, representatives of other agencies, and the public.
- Preparing reports, correspondence, and a variety of written materials operating a computer and using various software for completion of inspection tasks.
- Communicating with District engineers and inspections staff regarding possible changes to plans and problem resolution.
WRD Inspector I: $28.11 - $43.55 Hourly
WRD Inspector II: $30.32 - $47.03 Hourly
This recruitment will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

WRD Inspector I - High school diploma or equivalent, and two years of college level course work in engineering, construction technology or a related field, AND two years of full time construction experience, preferably inspecting or constructing in a water and/or wastewater or other industrial facility. Experience in a field related to the work may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis.
WRD Inspector II - In addition to the requirements for the WRD Inspector I, an additional 1 year of full time construction experience (totaling 3 years of experience) preferably inspecting or constructing water and/or wastewater or other industrial infrastructure facilities. Experience in a field related to the work may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions: Work out of doors in all weather conditions. Work with exposure to potentially hazardous materials and in hazardous conditions, such as traffic.
Licensing and Certification:
WRD Inspector I: Must possess a valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at the time of appointment. Must obtain the following licenses / certifications within twelve (12) months of appointment and maintain these licenses / certifications during term of employment: OSHA 10; First Aid / CPR; WRD Inspector Training Program (not a certification); WRD Permit-Required Confined Space Entry certification including training and successfully passing the corresponding physical assessment; International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA and/or ATSSA) - Work zone safety certificate; American Concrete Institute (ACI) Field Testing Technician Grade I; National Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO) Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (PACP) for Manhole Assessment (MACP), Pipeline (PACP), and Lateral Assessment (LACP); others as assigned by supervisor or manager.
WRD Inspector II: In addition to the licenses and certifications for the WRD Inspector I, the following is required in order to advance to the WRD Inspector II: National Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO) for Cured In Place Pipe (CIPP); American Construction Inspectors Association (ACIA) Registered Construction Inspector, Division I - Engineering or Division IV - Public Works; NACE Level I Certified Coating Inspector; others as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.
Medical Examination: Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician.
Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
