What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist position at Clavenna Vision Institute?
The Medical Receptionist supports the other administrative and medical staff as the first and last point of contact for patients and visitors. Serves as a liaison between the patient, medical support staff, and physicians. Customer service orientated position that is responsible for greeting patients, preparing patient charts, requesting and receiving payments, answering telephone lines, and scheduling patient appointments while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Essential Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors promptly in a courteous, professional, and helpful manner.
- Maintain excellent communication and effective working relationships with patients, providers, clinical and administrative team members for continuity of high-quality patient care.
- Schedule patient appointments following clinic specifications and procedures.
Other Functions
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures
- Perform related duties as required and as needed.
- Travel between office locations as needed.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, client, company and personnel information by conforming to all HIPAA regulations and following confidentiality policies and procedures.
- Conform to all OSHA regulations to maintain a safe environment.
- Operate basic office equipment.
Skills and Qualifications
· High School Diploma/GED required.
· At least one year of experience in customer service setting, ideally in a medical office, is preferred.
· Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
· Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
· Demonstrate self-motivation, initiative and time management skills.
· The ability to effectively communicate information and ideas both verbally and in written format.
· Ability to work independently but also to work effectively with others as a team to accomplish objectives and goals.
· Strong computer and keyboarding skills, with the ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute (WPM).
