MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

JOB SUMMARY

Clean Green Textile Services LLC does business as Single Source Plus. We launder linens for hotels in the tristate area, using industrial equipment in a warehouse environment.  

Employees must possess the ability to work as part of a team in a diversely populated warehouse environment. Employees should establish and maintain cooperative working relationship with all employees, customers, and vendors. Employees are required to maintain professionalism through actions as well as appearance, as this position will require face to face, verbal and electronic interaction with customers and vendors. 

Mechanics are responsible for monitoring, preserving, repairing, and preforming preventative maintenance for laundering & building equipment. Mechanic staff should have a strong knowledge of electrical components. Mechanics should possess manual dexterity, basic math knowledge and a strong mechanical aptitude. Successful mechanics will have superior attention to detail along with the ability to efficiently identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, boiler and safety issues.  This is NOT a stationary position. 

Compensation is based on experience 

CORE JOB DUTIES: 

• Operate and maintain commercial laundry plant equipment
• Assist boiler operators with preventative maintenance of High Pressure Boiler and corresponding equipment to ensure optimal and continuous operation of boiler mechanical systems
• Monitor and log metered equipment and adjust levels as necessary
• Maintain systems by scheduling regular inspections, cleanings, filter replacement and all other tasks necessary to keep all components performing optimally; identify and repair/replace malfunctioning components
• Repairs, maintains, and troubleshoots various electrical equipment
• Create and properly document records of inspections, maintenance routines and repairs
• Sustain up-to-date knowledge of developments in relevant technology and make recommendations for overhauls and upgrades
• Study to keep current on knowledge of all applicable safety laws and regulations to always ensure full compliance
• Required to perform general mechanical and electrical work with regards to commercial laundering and facilities equipment
• Routine monitoring and inspection of commercial washers, dryers, ironers, and other related equipment, as well as facility equipment
• Miscellaneous facility maintenance as needed. i.e. cleaning vents, blowing down machinery to remove lint/dust build-up, replacing filters and/or lightbulbs, etc.
• Ability to understand and interpret mechanical & electrical literature and manuals
• Hands-on troubleshooting and follow-up resolution 
• Timely response to service requests from staff regarding improper operation of equipment
• Perform maintenance and repair of equipment using historical events and industry manuals  
• Other duties as deemed necessary, by the management team, to ensure successful daily operations of the company. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to perform the task normally associated with the position, including but not limited to, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, climbing, squatting, and twisting as well as good hand-eye coordination and occasional lifting/carrying items up to 75 lbs. Employees should also have a high level of endurance to maintain stamina during shift hours while standing on feet continuously for duration of an 8 – 10 hour shift. Boiler, mechanics, maintenance, and janitorial staff should also be comfortable working in narrow spaces and handling small parts.

HOURS 

Single Source Plus is open 365 days a year, including holidays and weekends.  The normal full-time work week is 35 – 45 hours per week. Company hours of operation range from 5:00am to the close of business. The close of business is open ended, ranging from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and is based on the volume of linens received each day.   Mechanics and Maintenance employees are typically scheduled to work 3 to 5 days a week with daily shifts ranging from 8 to 10 hours. The needs of the company may impact schedules.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older
• Electrical concepts and knowledge are a must. 
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the maintenance of industrial electrical, electronic, and/or mechanical equipment.
• Must have valid Driver’s License and access to vehicle 

• Knowledge of commercial laundering equipment, preferred
• Ability to operate a forklift is a plus, not required
• NJ High Pressure Boiler License, or knowledge of boiler operations is preferred, not required
