RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
- Operate and monitor refinery plant equipment and processes according to established procedures and safety protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
- Monitor process parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow rates, and chemical concentrations to ensure optimal performance.
- Communicate with plant personnel and management to coordinate safe and efficient operations.
- Complete documentation, including operating logs, maintenance records, and safety reports.
- Participate in training and development programs to improve skills.
- Collaborate with the maintenance department and external drivers for operational support.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
What does it take to work as a Refinery Operator I?
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required).
- 0 to 3 years of experience in industrial or refinery operations (Preferred).
- 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training (Required).
- Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and adverse weather conditions.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including 12-hour shifts (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM), 4-on/4-off, and 5-10 schedules.
- Flexibility for overtime, especially during vacation coverage or increased production demands.
