The Vice President of Manufacturing Excellence will be a strategic leader responsible for driving operational excellence across the entire pork manufacturing process. This role will lead and oversee the integration of engineering, capital project management, continuous improvement initiatives, and the corporate maintenance function.
Job Description:
- Recruit, develop and retain a world-class team of leaderships across engineering, capital, and corporate maintenance functions.
- Lead the development and implementation of the Center of Excellence strategy.
- Collaborate with plant and other appropriate leadership to ensure culture of excellence and continuous improvement is implemented and sustainable.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in engineering, capital project management, and continuous improvement.
- Lead the development and implementation of engineering standards, practices, and procedures.
- Ensure effective management of the capital project portfolio, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality expectations.
- Ensure development and implementation of a capital project management methodology for all manufacturing and facility upgrades.
- Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of new equipment and processes.
- Establish and lead a corporate maintenance function to optimize equipment reliability and uptime.
- Oversee corporate facilities/infrastructure teams including refrigeration, electric and plumbing.
- Identify and implement technology solutions to optimize production efficiency and product quality.
- Track and report on project performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive continuous improvement program focused on waste reduction, cost optimization, and quality enhancement.
- Facilitate the use of lean manufacturing principles and tools across all departments.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management.
- Track and report on progress towards continuous improvement goals.
- Ensure development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs.
- Collaborate with broader leadership team of Clemens Food Group to ensure alignment to strategic objectives.
- Ensure plant priorities align with and ensure support of customer and growth initiatives.
