Responsibilities:
As an Environmental Services Supervisor, you will supervise the technical and administrative functions of the Environmental Services department. Some of your primary responsibilities include:
- Acting as a technical resource for caregivers.
- Implementing goals consistent with assigned clinical and non-clinical units.
- Providing effective use of personnel, policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe and attractive environment.
- Is fair to all caregivers.
- Works with the team to accomplish goals and prioritizes team building.
- Has excellent time management, communication, and computer skills.
- Will lead the team to protect patients and fellow caregivers.

Responsibilities:
- Supervises employees in daily operations and evaluates performance.
- Continuously inspects assigned areas to ensure high quality of cleaning and maintenance is being performed.
- Maintains staffing levels, approves and schedules paid time off and leave requests.
- Ensures cross coverage.
- Coordinates and provides orientation, education and training.
- Improves procedures and processes.
- Analyzes work flow and procedures, recommending change as appropriate.
- Provides recommendations to improve speed, quality and effectiveness of the department procedures.
- May be assigned to cover shifts in the event of staffing gaps including vacancies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s Degree may substitute the experience requirement.
- None required.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- One year of experience as a work leader, team lead or project manager, or one year of supervisor experience in a related field.
- Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment\
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
- Ability to travel throughout the hospital system
- Requires full body motion, including ability to perform work while lifting, pulling, pushing, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting and reaching.
- Requires regular handling and use of disinfectants and other cleaning agents and chemicals.
- Light Work - Exerting 11 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects.
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
