Responsibilities:
- Performs ophthalmic photography testing including anterior and posterior OCT imaging, standard fundus photography, ultra-wide field fundus imaging, FAF and red-free fundus photography, fluorescein angiography and ICG testing.
- Accurately differentiates basic to intermediate level ocular pathology and diseases.
- Evaluates physician orders and follows appropriate protocols for examinations.
- Maintains equipment and imaging database integrity, and complies with all safety precautions.
- Demonstrates positive, concerned and sensitive responses in the work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Ophthalmic Imaging or related field
Languages:
- English
Certifications:
- OCT-C (Optical Coherence Tomography-Certified) or eligible preferred
Competencies (Complexity of Work): N/A
Work Experience:
- Offset: Four years' experience as one of the following may substitute for the Bachelor's Degree: Full time Ophthalmic Photographer, Ophthalmic Echographer, Ophthalmic Imaging Specialist, Ophthalmic Assistant or Technician (certified), or RN (license not required)
Physical Requirements:
- Manual dexterity and strength sufficient to operate medical equipment utilized to perform testing procedures, perform exams and hold equipment.
- Good eye-hand coordination.
- May require long periods of standing and walking.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Lab Coat, gloves, and face mask when applicable.
