Custodian II (Bargaining Unit: SEIU) Pay Grade B (3 Positions Available)
Hours: Part-Time Tuesday through Friday 1 to 6 and Saturday 10 to 6 floating at assigned branches

Job Summary: Job Purpose/Scope: Perform routine building cleaning and light maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment for Library patrons and staff..
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or its equivalent.
Experience:
One-year custodial experience preferred
Licenses/Certifications Required: Ohio Driver's License
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Computer Literacy Required for the job:
Knowledge of cleaning and grounds maintenance techniques and practices. ?
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals including proper mixing and safety.
Ability to use custodial equipment such as hand tools, buffers, vacuums, mowers, trimmers, blowers, and carpet cleaning equipment.
Ability to operate material handling equipment.
Ability to multi-task. ? Ability to follow written and oral instruction, and to identify exceptions.
Knowledge of business mathematics and business English at the basic level.
Ability to adapt to new and updated software and procedures.
Ability to demonstrate basic computer skills including use of MS Windows and electronic communication.
Ability to maintain insurable driving status per the standards of the Library's fleet insurance carrier
Ability to work with potentially hazardous materials including bodily fluids.
Ability to work from scaffolding, ladders, and roofs.
Ability to work with power tools and other grounds keeping equipment.
Ability to operate material handling equipment.
Ability to work in a shipping dock environment with extreme temperature fluctuations.
Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Adheres to Library attendance and work schedule policies.
Complies with all Library work rules, procedures, and policies.
Maintains a safe work environment.
Cleans Library facilities including removing trash, washing and vacuuming floors, dusting furniture and washing windows, blinds, and walls.
Replaces supplies including restroom supplies, kitchen supplies, light bulbs, and cleaning supplies.
Cleans and maintains Library grounds including picking up trash, mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, weeding, salting walkways, and snow removal
Performs building opening and closing routines.
Clears roof drains.
Maintains cleaning equipment and supplies.
Cleans carpeting, furniture, stairwells, and elevator tracks.
Moves furniture, equipment, and other objects as needed.
