TITLE: Mechanic
REPORTS TO: Transportation Director and Supervisor
LENGTH OF CONTRACT OR WORK YEAR: 12 months (240 days)_
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs, diagnoses and repairs district’s automotive diesel equipment.
- Promotes high standards of safety and good housekeeping methods in all work-connected areas.
- Performs general automotive diesel repair and preventive maintenance as required.
- Operate school bus as a substitute driver, when needed.
- Records all maintenance and report to district vehicles and equipment.
- Performs any other duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman or Director of Transportation.
- Regular in person attendance.
- Must have CDL Class B with airbrakes and P and S Endorsement
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Demonstrated success in performing a wide variety of tasks requiring an understanding of and proficiency at automotive diesel mechanical repair.
- Successful experience with recommendations from references.
- Evidence of ability to adapt to mechanical repair assignments made by the Shop Foreman or Director of Transportation.
- Satisfactory driving record with Commercial Drivers Licenses, class B with a “P” passenger, “S” school bus endorsement and Air Brakes endorsements.
- Satisfactory participation in DOT Random Testing
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to use basic computer and engine diagnostic equipment.
