We are Looking for:
Someone who is an experienced Medical Assistant for a multi-specialty medical practice. The medical assistant should perform a supportive role in delivering comprehensive care to the patient that is safe, effective, and efficient.
Responsibilities:
- Interview/update patient’s chief complaint, medical history, medication list, and take vitals.
- Prepares patient charts a week in advance and verifies benefits reports.
- Refill patient medications as directed by a physician and obtain Pre-Authorization/Determination for medications.
- Ensures that physician is in-network and authorized/up-to-date referral is in the patient's chart.
- Educates and informs the patient of any DI, labs, referrals, and procedures physicians might have ordered.
- Schedule surgery
- Perform PFTs and six minute walk
- Performs related duties as required.
Education and Skills
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program
- Two- Five years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Experience with PFTs and six minute walk
- Experience with scheduling surgery
