What are the responsibilities and job description for the Science Summer Camp Instructors position at Club SciKidz MD?
Club SciKidz MD offers science and technology summer camps for children ages 4-15 years in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard, and Montgomery counties. We are hiring Lead Instructors to work at our Annapolis location. The Lead Instructor position is for folks at least 21 years old and have experience teaching and leading a group of children. Preference given to certified teachers, education majors, and other individuals in work in the education/day care fields. Our day camps run Monday-Friday, and staff are scheduled by the week. We ask for a commitment of at least 5 weeks. Staff hours are approximately 8:15-4:15 with one before and one after care shift each week. Pay starts at $475 a week and is dependent on your experience working with children and the fields of science & technology. Certified teachers start at $500 per week
We are looking for folks who:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Enjoy working with children
- Have experience working with, teaching and leading a group of children
- . Want to help campers have a great summer as they learn science & technology
- . Passionate about providing children with hands-on learning experiences
- Are reliable & hard working; have reliable transportation
- Having [some] experience with technology is a plus, but NOT a requirement
Daily responsibilities include:
- Supervising campers
- Implementing provided lessons (all lessons, materials & supplies are provided)
- Keeping kids engaged, while maintaining a safe environment
- Have fun with what you are doing
- Being on time every day for your required shifts (you are scheduled by the week, so you work a whole week M-F at a time)
- Working with other staff to provide an excellent camp experience
