CLX Engineering specializes in engineering automation but our upper-level Software Engineers drive the business by supporting our projects, R&D initiatives, and unique CLX Engineering "off the shelf" software products. All of our projects require an excellent understanding of a project’s scope, goals, and underlying technical requirements. Our SW engineers balance internal and external client needs and expectations and can confidently execute quality projects consistently achieving project success.
Successful software engineering candidates must be analytical, detail-oriented, and enjoy a dynamic, ever-changing work environment all the while effectively executing our Core Values. Software Engineers are exempt employees reporting directly to the Director, Software Engineering. Software Engineers must be able to travel and on occasion (up to 30%) may be asked to travel internationally. CLX's clients are busiest during the day and much of the day-to-day work is done during the night. Our most urgent needs have our engineers supporting a local theme park and up to 43 airports within the Eastern US.
Technical requirements aren't necessarily specialized but familiarity with industrial manufacturing and/or airports is definitely a strong plus! Must be very proficient in using C# and C . Basic working or applied knowledge of HTML and CSS is required. CLX SW Engineers also frequently work with GitHub, Git Kracken (other version control is okay), and Asp.NET.
- Software Engineers must be authorized to work in the US without visa support.
- Relocation reimbursement is very limited.
- These are not remote positions although there is a lot of WFH flexibility and possible opportunities for a 4/10 schedule depending on assigned projects.

The Software Engineer is responsible for the following:
- Design, modify, develop, write and implement software programming applications
- Support and/or install software applications/operating systems
- Conduct software inspections, testing, verification, and validation. Implement software development and maintenance processes
- Participate in the management, design, decomposition, authoring integration, testing, and verification processes in the development of object-oriented software applications in a high-availability, high-performance computing environment
- Resolve software problem reports; utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment
- Plan and coordinate peer review of work products such as code, designs, and test plans produced by other team members

Requirements
- BS or MS Degree in Computer Science or related field with 3-5 years relevant work experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Must be proficient with multiple programming languages: Java and/ or C / C# / Visual Basic / Visual Studio .NET required
- Full working knowledge of XML, XML schemas, HTML, DHTML, and CSS
- Must have some hands-on experience in Full lifecycle software engineering including design, architecture, development, testing and support
- Must be able to provide required auto insurance documentation when requested.
- Knowledge of networking, system administration, high-performance file systems, and hardware maintenance are a plus
- Experience with Unity and 3D graphic design a plus
- Must be able to provide accurate documentation of the design and operation of software components
- Organization skills, attention to detail, self-sufficiency, analytical thinking and focus on quality are required
- Must be able to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally
