Overview

The Roper supports field electricians by assisting with basic tasks on job sites while gaining hands-on exposure to the electrical trade. Responsibilities include helping with material handling, pulling wire, organizing tools, preparing work areas, and maintaining job site cleanliness. Under direct supervision, the Roper participates in entry-level electrical tasks that support efficient project progress while learning industry standards and safe work practices. Dependable and punctual attendance is essential to the success of this position.

Responsibilities

• Assist electricians with basic tasks such as material handling and wire pulling.• Organize tools, equipment, and materials needed for daily job activities.• Prepare work areas and help maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site.• Support the crew with simple installation-related tasks under supervision.• Follow instructions from supervisors and journeyman electricians.• Learn and adhere to company safety policies, procedures, and best practices.• Help load, unload, and transport materials as needed.• Demonstrate professionalism, willingness to learn, and teamwork on all job sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or current enrollment in an ROP or similar vocational program.• Interest in pursuing a career in the electrical or construction industry.• Ability to use basic hand tools safely (training provided).• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to follow instructions.• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.• Ability to maintain professional conduct on active job sites.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Primarily field-based on active construction job sites.• Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. regularly.• Must be able to work in various indoor and outdoor conditions.• Exposure to noise, dust, and construction-related hazards; PPE provided and required.• Standard work hours with the possibility of overtime based on project needs.
