This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
Duties
- Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
- Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing and payment approvals.
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with securities law.
- Provide support in wills, trusts, and estate law matters as needed.
- Mentor junior staff members and provide guidance on accounting practices.
- Conduct regular audits of financial documents to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in public accounting or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts and principles.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
- Familiarity with wills, trusts, estate law, and securities law is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across departments.
