What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator position at CN Wire Corporation?
We are looking for a skilled Machine Operator to set up, maintain and operate machinery. You’ll ensure the interminable and efficient running of production. A great machine operator is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. On-the-job training is a good way to discover how to do the job better, so you should have willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. The goal will be to ensure that production procedures will be carried on smoothly to maximize efficiency and profits.
Responsibilities
- Operate NIEHOFF D561, D631, D801, D1250, Planetary Strander, Single Twist machines,
- Bunch multiple/single wires within the final product tolerances due to customer specifications and production parameters,
- Determine setup procedures and select machine parts; according to production plan, specifications and process parameter instructions.
- Load inlet wires on pay offs and unload the empty ones when finished.
- Make preliminary test production
- Take the wire samples and submit QC Lab for testing
- Make the necessary adjustments and revisions depending on the results
- Observe the ongoing process to ensure that machine is operating properly; make adjustments or stop machine when problems occur.
- Inspect the wire traversing visually and readjust if necessary.
- Maintain process control and production records.
- Take the wire samples from the finished products and submit to QC Lab for final testing.
- Wrap the finished reels with cardboard /stretch film and hang on the labels.
- Carry and place the finished products to the stocking /packaging area,
- Make necessary interventions and inform his/her supervisor about the situation in case of defective production,
- Do simple maintenance and cleaning of the machinery.
- Clean work area and keep all the equipment and tools properly maintained.
- Work in accordance with the safety and environmental rules.
Skills
- Proven experience as a machine operator
- Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)
- Understanding of production procedures
- Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
- Analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Teamwork and communication skills
- Physical stamina and strength
- High school diploma or equivalent.

Pay: $15.50 - $17.00 per hour
