Position Title: Community Health Worker (CHW)

Location: Prince George’s County

Commitment: Full Time (40 hours weekly), including evenings during the week

Compensation: $20 – $28

Coaching Salud Holística is seeking dedicated and bilingual (English/Spanish) Community Health Workers (CHWs) who reside in Prince George’s County. The CHWs will conduct grassroots outreach efforts including canvassing neighborhoods, attending community events, and administering surveys to understand and address community needs. This role is central to connecting residents with resources, gathering vital data, and fostering trust within Latino and immigrant communities.


Key Responsibilities:

Community Outreach & Canvassing:

  • Canvassing and outreach in Prince George’s County neighborhoods.
  • Attend and represent Coaching Salud Holística at community events, fairs, and resource hubs.
  • Distribute educational materials and engage residents in conversations about health and wellness.
  • Build trust and relationships with community members to support engagement and follow-up efforts.

Survey Administration:

  • Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity during data collection.
  • Submit collected data in a timely and organized manner using tools provided.
  • Maintain organized records of collected data, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant privacy regulations.
  • Distribute and collect surveys from participants, ensuring data is accurate, comprehensive, and reflective of the project’s objectives.
  • Gather performance metrics related to the project’s activities, such as outreach effectiveness, participant engagement, and service utilization rates.

Support with Recreational After-School Programs:

  • Assist with planning and facilitating recreational and wellness-focused after-school activities.
  • Help create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for participating youth.
  • Lead or assist in activities that promote physical activity, emotional well-being, and positive social interaction.
  • Support event logistics, including set-up, supervision, and clean-up.
  • Serve as a positive role model, encouraging healthy habits and respectful behavior.


Qualifications:

Education Requirement:

Community Health Worker (CHW) Certification or Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Education, or a related field

Cultural & Community Competence:

  • Deep knowledge of and connection to the Latino/immigrant community in Baltimore.
  • Must live in Prince George’s County
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong communication skills in both languages.

Work Eligibility:

Must have Social Security Number (SSN)/Work Authorization

Skills & Attributes:

  • Friendly, compassionate, and able to build trust quickly in diverse communities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data collection.
  • Able to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Logistics & Transportation:

  • Reliable transportation is required to attend outreach events and canvassing assignments across the Prince George’s county area.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings during the week

Experience:

1 year or more in community or public health experience
