Overview
Coastal Waste & Recycling is a solid waste and recycling, hauling and disposal company. We are experiencing explosive growth and with growth comes opportunity. We are currently adding a driver helper. CDL is not necessary, but this is a good opportunity for a new CDL holder to gain experience on a truck and learn the routes.
Responsibilities
Essential functions

- Collect commercial waste/ recyclable materials from designated locations
- Partner with the driver in helping maneuver the vehicle while backing up
- Report all customer-related problems to the driver immediately
- Comply with all safety and equipment checks that adheres to federal, state, local and company rules/ regulations for safely operating a vehicle
- Ensure that all required personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn
- Assist driver in keeping the interior and exterior of the vehicle clean and safe to operate
- Assist with dumping at disposal site
- Complete any assigned trainings as assigned for the role

Work environment and hours
- Shifts may vary Monday-Saturday
- 40-55 hours a week
- Work sites with dust and debris

- Must be able to safely climb on and off a truck
- Ability to lift and move 65 pounds regularly.

Required education and experience
- One-year professional experience
Preferred education and experience
- Valid driver’s license
- One year experience in waste
- Bilingual (Spanish or Creole)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
